Thanks Greg…I love LR3 as well. Always learn something from your short videos.

I have not done the “new” photo selection rather relying on “don’t import suspected duplicates”. Had not set up any presets on exporting but that will be a huge time saver as I looked at your list. I export to BPN, my website, under my copyright or my wife’s and more so that will greatly simplify things. I import all my files probably a bit differently in terms of folders and naming conventions. Since I have many cameras and uses, I import everything into files by date with the shoot name appended to the file name. I would be interested whether you ever use the Publish feature. I use that for Smugmug and if I had a facebook site would probably do the same.

Look forward to your next tips…

Hi, Steve. Glad you enjoyed the video and got something out of it. Presets definitely are the way to go whenever possible IMO.

I don’t use the Publish feature mostly because I don’t post images on Facebook much but rather links to content on my blog or whatever. That said, I think it would work quite well. I have one for Photoshelter, which I use to power my image archive, and I do use it on occasion.

    All the best,
    Greg

Hi Greg nice idea . I’m only using LR for my photo work and am very satisfied with it. Nice tips for managing your workflow and I will try some of you tips specially your presets. Curious to see your editing tips. Have a nice autumn in CR and hope to see you next year. It seems it will be difficult with all the WS you organise.
    Best regards Philippe

  4. Very useful tips, Greg. LR is one of my favorite programs too. I have been using it for a couple of years, but many things you are showing in this video I didn’t know or didn’t think about. Thanks for sharing!

    All the best,

    Arthur

I hope you had a productive summer!

    All the best,

Thanks for the nice video-tutorials. Good tips and techniques.

But as criticism please invest in a better microphone :)
And why not use YouTube/Vimeo for the videos for better playback interface and quality? Or if possible increase the quality since they don’t look very good fullscreen.

  10. Greg Basco says:

Thanks, Sampsa. New microphone maybe when I start charging for the tutorials :-)

    Cheers,
    Greg
