Deep Green Photography

I try to take photographs that capture the wonder and mystery of the tropical ecosystems where I live and work. By using different in-camera techniques along with an insistence on interesting light, shadow, and composition, I hope to give each image a little something extra that helps it to stand out from the crowd.

Thanks for visiting!

METAL PRINTS

Rainforest images look simply phenomenal on metal! Metal prints boast astoundingly rich color; they are actually printed on metal. Aluminum sheets are covered with a special coating, and then dyes are infused directly into the surface, creating a beautiful depth and vibrance.

My metal prints include a 1/2″ metal float block so they are ready to hang as soon as they arrive. And ordering is easy and secure. I prep each image file using the latest professional software from Adobe and the industry standard Perfect Resize from OnOne software for the highest quality prints.

Below are some of my latest fine art prints.

WORKSHOPS

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE CURRENT SCHEDULE

My photo workshop tours are popular because they are true workshops. I dedicate my time during the trip to teaching you the techniques that I use in my own photography, not to taking my own photos. I do that on my own time :-). Through a mix of hands-on learning and formal presentations, I’m with you every step of the way! Though I use Canon gear, I am familiar with Nikon equipment as well.

On each trip, I take care of you from arrival to departure, freeing you to concentrate on taking great rainforest photos. In addition to Costa Rica, I'll be expanding trips into other areas of Latin America in the coming years with destinations including Ecuador, Peru, and Chile.

Trips fill up fast so please sign up early :-) I hope to have the chance to work with you soon!

NEW STOCK PHOTOS

Deep Green Photography stock photos are high quality and have been used in coffee table books, magazines (National Geographic US edition, GeoNewsweekOutdoor PhotographerNature's BestAustralian Photography, etc.), textbooks, calendars, websites, and for product advertising (including Canon professional product) the world over. I crop very conservatively, if at all, meaning that any image you see here will work for your project. There are no Photoshop composites or digital trickery here; these are real photos with an artistic bent that will work for scientific, advertising, or editorial needs. See the "Stock Galleries" menu above to start shopping for your next project!
