I have bird feeders in my front yard at my home in the Costa Rican highlands. In the northern winter months, a number of North American species join the regular mixed flock of tanagers, saltators, and woodpeckers that visits my feeders. It's a great setting to do some bird photography and, though I don't do it very often, I always enjoy it.

This picture of a singing Baltimore Oriole breaks many of the rules of what is often considered a "good bird photo" these days. The bird is small in the frame, the perch is rather large, the bird is facing away, and the background is not posterboard smooth. I liked all of these elements and thought that they combined for an evocative picture of this winter migrant calling in the cloud forest.
